MLA Pay Review Hearing Nixed

Lack of interest cited
A public hearing that would have allowed community members to offer their thoughts on MLA pay and pensions has been cancelled.
The hearing was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in Medicine Hat, but the provincial commission overseeing the salary issue says a lack of interest led to the cancellation.
Hearings were also set to go in Lethbridge, Red Deer, Fort McMurray and Grande Prairie - they've all been turfed as well.
A lack of attendee registrations was cited as the reason.
Critics are questioning whether there was enough public advertising prior to the hearings.
Anyone who did register has been invited to give input in Calgary next Thursday; written submissions will also be accepted until February 24th.
