More Ministerial Visits In Medicine Hat

Finance Minister Ron Liepert stopped in town Tuesday to tour the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Centre at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.
Liepert was serving as Heath Minister when the centre was re-named following
a $3-million donation to build a cancer clinical trials program.
He says he was impressed by the program - as well as Dr. Marc Trudeau's work so far.
"Alberta - and specifically the Medicine Hat region - are very fortunate to have
someone that has his vision when it comes to cancer and the way post-operative
treatment is handled," he said. " I think the Medicine Hat area is in pretty
good hands."
When asked about the possibility of a radiation centre coming to the 'Hat,
Liepert couldn't offer any insight into whether we'll see one added as
part of the hospital expansion but added that the Lethbridge facility is serving Hatters well.
MLA's Len Mitzel and Rob Renner were also on hand for the tour- as well, several other politicians will be stopping in the 'Hat on Tuesday, including Dave Rodney, and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Evan Berger.
