Nominations Close In PC Race

Four candidates looking to replace out-going MLA Rob Renner

There are officially four nominees running to replace MLA Rob Renner in the upcoming provincial election.

Renner announced last year he won't be seeking re-election after ninteen years in office.

The nomination process closed in Medicine Hat Friday at 5:00.

Linda Rossler, Darren Hirsch, Dan Hein and Ian Baird are all vying to run.

A vote will be held on Saturday, January 28th to choose the candidate.

Elsewhere, Blake Pedersen is running for the Wildrose Alliance, Dennis Perrier is representing the NDP and the Liberals haven't yet named a candidate.

An election date has yet to be set, but it will be sometime in March, April, or May as mandated by law.
