Former Tigers Captain Traded To Calgary Flames

On Monday (Feb. 22), the Vancouver Canucks traded Calgary native, Hunter Shinkaruk to the Calgary Flames in exchange for Markus Granlund.

A former Medicine Hat Tigers captain has been traded back to his hometown club. On Monday (Feb. 22), the Vancouver Canucks traded Calgary native, Hunter Shinkaruk to the Calgary Flames in exchange for Markus Granlund. Shinkaruk has scored 21 goals for 39 points in 45 games with the American Hockey League's Utica Comets this season. He scored a total of 236 points in four season with the Tigers. Shinkaruk was drafted 24th overall by the Canucks in the 2013 NHL Draft. - Logan Piekema
