The memory of one woman lives on, and another had her legacy strengthened Saturday at the Medicine Hat College Rattlers Hall of Fame Breakfast. The late Mary Matthiessen, a former administrative assistant, was one of the inaugural inductees. "Every possible thing you could think of that had to do with our department, Mary was behind it and involved," said Kelly Almer, Sport & Wellness Manager. "She was an icon and we miss her dearly." Matthiessen passed away in 2009. Sue Higgins was a longtime men's volleyball coach. Almer says Higgins is a volleyball icon. "Booster club member, volleyball coach, two-time ACAC men's volleyball coach of the year, trendsetter," said Almer. "Everything to do with volleyball, that was Sue Higgins." Higgins is currently an assistant coach with the women's volleyball team.
