Trevor Linden Name Canucks President Of Hockey Operations

Linden, 43, was born and raised in Medicine Hat and also played four season with the Tigers in the mid-to-late 80's.

Medicine Hat native Trevor Linden has been named the president of hockey operations for the Vancouver Canucks. It comes just one day after the team fired GM Mike Gillis, following the Canucks failing to make the post season for the first time in six years. Linden, 43, was born and raised in Medicine Hat and also played four season with the Tigers in the mid-to-late 80's. He then played 19 seasons in the NHL, the majority of that time with Vancouver. He was named team captain at the age of 21 and took them to the Stanley Cup final in 1994 where the Canucks lost to the New York Rangers in seven games.
