Medicine Hat Sun Devils, Moose Monarchs, Mavericks

Medicine Hat's Junior B Tier Three Sun Devils secured a pair of wins over the weekend. Saturday in Brooks, the Sun Devils beat the Drillers 16-6. Brody Smith and Logan Sundholm each had three goals. Sunday at the Kinplex, Zack Wilson had the hat trick as the Sun Devils downed the Olds Stingers 10-3. The Tier Three Sun Devils now have a record of 9-3 with two games left on the season.


Medicine Hat's Junior B Tier Two Sun Devils pick up a victory at the Kinplex Sunday afternoon. Nolan Lunge, Charlie Liebrecht and Calen Anton each had three goals in a 15-9 win over the Calgary Wranglers.


The Medicine Hat Moose Monarch won their second tournament in as many week. At the Lethbridge Elks Invitational, the Monarchs edged the host team 3-2 Sunday for the title. The Monarch advanced to the championship game by beating the Calgary Redbirds 6-3 and giving them a 2-2 record in the round robin play.  That was the same record as the Edmonton Cardinals - Saskatoon Diamondbacks - and Regina Athletics. However, the Monarchs advanced with a better runs against to win the tiebreaker.


The Medicine Hat Mavericks downed the Swift Current Indians 8-3 at Athletic Park Sunday. Dawson Porter homered in the fourth inning. The Mavs improved their record to 12-and-2. That comes after splitting a home-and-home series with Okotoks. The Dawgs blanked the Mavericks 10-0 Friday, but the Mavericks rebounded for a 7-5 win Saturday.
