The letter points out 4 areas of concern they say need to be dealt with before pot is legalized next year.
The Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police have some serious concerns about what they say is the "Federal Governments's aggressive times lines for legalizing cannabis". In the letter written by association president Andy McGrogan, the points of access and exposure by young people, road safety, organized crime influence and on-line sales and distribution are all things that need to be better addressed. The Medicine Hat Police Chief says in the real world, the federal government would extend their deadline to allow time to answer the many questions that still remain. McGrogan says the Chiefs aren't criticizing the provincial government as they are just trying to do what the federal government wants. ~~ Warren Affleck
