The provincial body alleges the dealership knowingly sold vehicles with liens on them.
A Medicine Hat car dealership has been shut down by the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council. AMVIC says it has suspended the automotive business license of Autos R Less in Medicine Hat for knowingly selling vehicles with outstanding liens to customers. AMVIC said in a press release, it is aware of 21 registered vehicle seizure notices going out, of which 9 have been purchased by Alberta consumers, and those vehicles are in the process of being seized by the lienholders. Anyone who purchased a vehicle from Autos R Less that is being repossessed is advised to file a consumer complaint with amvic.org and to seek the advice of a lawyer. The automotive business now is unable to operate until it can provide evidence to AMVIC that it's financially stable to operate with no risk to the consumer. ~~ Warren Affleck
