An initiative from British Columbia has made its way into Brooks. Residents will take part in the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup Wednesday, tidying up a four-kilometre stretch of the Marshall Drain. The program was started by the Vancouver Aquarium 17 years ago. In 2009, 3,800 Albertans took part, and collected 16,400 kilograms of litter. Participants in Brooks will meet at the west-end baseball diamonds Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM.
