Cadets Begin Police Training In Medicine Hat

The second cadet training class offered by the Medicine Hat Police Service sees 8 cadets being joined by 3 recruits from the Blood Tribe Police Service

Eleven police cadets are beginning their education and training in Medicine Hat this week.  The Medicine Hat Police Service is running its second cadet training program and this year the 8 MHPS candidates will be joined by 3 cadets from the Blood Tribe Police Service.  Chief Andy McGrogan says the cadets will learn a lot from each other about culture and that will benefit their training.  McGrogan says, "It's so good to have that mixture of culture, mixture of experience.  So, we're really looking forward to it.  I really want to thank Chief Melting Tallow for being the first one to really step forward and say let's do this."  This program marks the first time in Alberta a First Nations Police Service will have cadets training along side municipal police cadets.  ~~  Warren Affleck
