City Launches HatSmart 2018

The popular rebate program returns for another year with rebates that allow double dipping with the provincial program

The City of Medicine Hat officially launched the 2018 HatSmart Program Wednesday (Jan 3) and advise residents to submit applications earlier rather than later for rebates.  Evironmental Sustainability Officer Daygan Fowler says the program this year is designed to also take advantage of offers from the province through Energy Efficiency Alberta.  Fowler says, "This year we have a program for solar panels, which can be stacked on top of the provincial rebate program.  We have a rebate for energy efficient clothes dryers, which compliments the provincial program.  The air sealing program compliments the provincial program.  Then we do have a new program for getting an Ener-Guide rating for a new house."  Fowler says the popular scratch and win component is also back this year for those smaller purchases.  She encourages Hatter's to visit the website or to call 502-8799 for more information.  ~~  Warren Affleck
