CJCY Radio Sold To Rogers Media

The deal, pending CRTC approval, is expected to take several months to complete

Clear Sky Radio, the company that owns 102.1 CJCY, announced late yesterday that it is selling the radio station to Rogers Media.   In a Press Release issued by Rogers, they state CJCY will join 105-3 ROCK which they already own in the market rounding out their portfolio of 55 radio stations across Canada including 14 here in Alberta.  Clear Sky Radio President Paul Larsen told staff that deciding to sell the station was a difficult decision however with Rogers reputation for delivering high quality radio services, he has no doubt the sale will be good for the community, the station's employees and advertising partners.  Julie Adam, Senior Vice President of Rogers Radio indicated that CJCY has earned a strong local listener base in the community and that Rogers is excited for the opportunity to build upon the station's legacy and continue its success.  The deal is subject to approval from the CRTC and is expected to take several months to complete.  ~~  Warren Affleck
