Capital Power was chosen in the opening round of Alberta's Renewable Electricity Program.
A company planning to build a renewable energy project in southeast Alberta was chosen in the opening round of Alberta's Renewable Electricity Program. Capital Power the Alberta based company that was named to proceed. Brian Vaasjo, CEO of the company, says the project will be located southwest of Medicine Hat. Vaasjo says, " Our Whitla wind project will be adding 200 megawatts of clean, renewable energy in our home province. Whitla Wind is located 50 kilometres southwest of Medicine Hat in the County of 40 Mile." Vaasjo says the project will also provide an economic stimulus to the region. Two other companies will build projects near Pincher Creek and Hanna. ~~ Warren Affleck
