Culture Groups Have Another Meeting With City Officials

City officials have proposed some alternate sites for cultural groups around Medicine Hat to call home.

City officials have proposed some alternate sites for cultural groups around Medicine Hat to call home. It comes as debate over the Cultural Centre continues, as Medicine Hat College is looking to expand it's Visual Arts program into that building. Nancy Ruth-Sissons, member of the Art Club and Fibre Arts Club, says many of the proposed sites aren't suitable and the Cultural Centre is still the best place to meet the various requirements. "We have specially built studios and specially built dance floors," said Ruth-Sissions. "The city really shouldn't have to spend a lot of money removing us, changing us, re-doing anything." Nearly 50 representatives from various culture groups met with city officials Thursday night. Ruth-Sission says there wasn't very much progress made.
