December Utility Bills Will See Rates Climb

The City of Medicine Hat says both natural gas and electricity rates will rise this month.

You'll be paying more for natural gas and electricity this month, as the City of Medicine Hat has published the December utility rates.  Natural gas will cost you $2.27 per gigajoule which is up from last month's $1.87.  Electricity meanwhile has also risen to 3.94 cents per kilowatt hour from the November rate of 3.55 cents.  City officials have long maintained that they set rates here based on an average of what other providers in the province are charging their customers.  ~~  Warren Affleck
