Enrollment is on the rise at Medicine Hat School District 76. Preliminary figures were released at Tuesday night's regular board meeting, the first for the new school year. Lyle Cunningham, Associate Superintendent, says the district has an increase of 49 students as compared to spring projections. However, these are still early figures, so school officials don't expect the final numbers to be released until next week. At that time the board will review their financials and decide whether or not any changes need to be made to programming. Another positive note made at the meeting is that enrollment for kindergarten is also up by 4% this fall, despite the full-day program being reduced to half-days.
