Canadian Coast Guard, RCMP and Canadian Pacific Railway honour the life and legacy of Private James Peter Robertson VC

The Canadian Coast Guard, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Canadian Pacific Railway paid homage to a Medicine Hat hero last weekend with the unveiling a commemorative plaque aboard the Canadian Coast Guard Ship Private Robertson V.C. Private James Peter Robertson of Medicine Hat was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross for his extraordinary valour and devotion to duty while facing a hostile force in one of the most significant battles in World War I.  The CCGS Private Robertson V.C. is dedicated to the Marine Security Enforcement Team program, a partnership between the Coast Guard and the RCMP.  The ship bearing Robertson's name will be patrolling the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway.  ~~  Warren Affleck
