Kara Levis was in Medicine Hat at the informal meet and greet hosted by the local constituency association Thursday night.
Interest in the Alberta party is growing across the province, including here in Medicine Hat. The 3 people vying to replace current leader Greg Clarke stopped in Medicine Hat Thursday night to have an informal meet and greet with interested Hatter's. Attorney Kara Levis says if she's elected leader, there are 3 things she feels are important for success in 2019. Levis says, "Recruiting excellent nomination contestants, that's priority number 1. Priority number 2 is growing our membership base. I would like to see it grow from where we are now, to over 20,000 members in 2019 and even 50,000 members in 2023. Then the third priority for our part is, of course, fundraising." To vote for a new leader, memberships in the Alberta party must be purchased before February 12. Voting will take place by preferential ballot at the end of the month. ~~ Warren Affleck
