Ted Clugston says we have one of the most beautiful trail system in the province, but what's lacking the connectivity between the north and the south.
It's an idea that's been around for decades and Mayor Ted Clugston is looking into it. During his State of the City address this week, he brought up the possibility a foot bridge over the South Saskatchewan River. "We have one of the, if not, the most beautiful trail systems in the province," says Clugston. "What's lacking the connectivity between the north and the south. If we could have a (foot bridge) between Strathcona and Police Point Park, or between Redcliff and Echo Dale, something like that, it would really be a feather in the cap." Clugston says during their strategic planning session, city council was only "lukewarm" to the idea, adding he'll try and push forward to at least get a cost estimate.
