Medicine Hat Man Charged With Uttering Threats

The man is accused of sending threats to the Prime Minister, Mayor Ted Clugston's office and the Medicine Hat Police Service

A 52 year-old Medicine Hat male is in custody after sending a series of threatening emails to the Prime Minister’s office, the City of Medicine Hat Mayor’s Office, and the Medicine Hat Police Service.  The e-mails included general threats against government, as well as specific threats directed at the Prime Minister.  The investigation to date has not revealed a specific plan to carry out the threats.  William Benham, has been charged with one count of utter threats to cause damage to property and one count of threats to cause death.  He remains in custody and will next appear in court on January 24, 2018.  ~~  MHPS Press Release
