MHPS Look For Suspect After Break-In And Assault

It happened around 7:30 p.m. Saturday at an apartment building in the 2300 block of Southview Drive S.E.

One person was seriously hurt after a break and enter in the Southview area. The Medicine Hat Police Service says it happened around 7:30 p.m. Saturday at an apartment building in the 2300 block of Southview Drive S.E. Officers believe the suspect got into a main floor unit through a broken window and a man inside the apartment was then assaulted. The victim was later taken to hospital, but his injuries aren't believed to be life threatening. A police canine unit was unable to find a suspect in the area, but it's believed this was a targeted incident and there's no risk to the public.
