Nominations Start Strong For 2010 Election

Nomination Day is proving fruitful as the day winds down for the 2010 Municipal Election.

The City Centre Development Agency will be looking for a new Executive Director in the coming days. George Webb has resigned from his position as of October 7th, and has handed in his nomination package for city alderman. As well, current council members hoping for re-election include Robert Dumanowski, John Hamill, Jeremy Thompson, Graham Kelly and Ted Clugston.

Julie has previously told the media she hasn't decided if she will run for Mayor or Alderman, while Ty announced last week he won't be seeking re-election because of his work with Medican Group of Companies. As of 11:45 Monday morning, only two names have been posted for the Mayor's seat, including incumbent Mayor Norm Boucher and newcomer Scott Cowan.

Terry Riley, Dr. Roy Wilson, Debra Forbes and Greg Bender are looking for seats on the Public School District's board of trustees. Dick Mastel, Jodi Churla, Dianne Durda, Peter Grad and Stan Aberle for vying for positions within the Catholic Board of Education.
