One Person Charged With Impaired Driving During Checkstop

Nearly 1,400 vehicles were stopped Friday night and into Saturday morning.

A few people made the naughty list after a weekend checkstop by the Medicine Hat Police Service. Nearly 1,400 vehicles were stopped Friday night and into Saturday morning. One person was charged with impaired driving, while 18 other drivers were put on a roadside screening device and passed. Another person was suspected to be driving under the influence of Cannabis and was issued a 24 hour suspension. There was also 29 traffic and 13 liquor violations, along with one drug seizure. Police say checkstops will continue throughout the holiday season and into the new year.
