Provincial Assistance Announced For Hilda Wildfire Landowners

The Province says more information and applications will be available January 8

The Provincial Government is finally stepping up to the plate to help those affected by the Hilda and Schuler wildfires.  A press release from the Agriculture Ministry states an assistance program is being set up to help with working capital, pay expenses and to help replace assets lost.  Additionally, the Wildfire Water Supply Program will be available to help replace watering systems damaged in the wildfires that destroyed more than 35,000 hectares of land.  The programs will be administered through the  Agriculture Financial Services Corporation and the province says program information and applications for an interest free loan will be available beginning January 8.  ~~  Warren Affleck
