RCMP Holding Career Presentation in Medicine Hat Tonight

Hatters interested in a career in policing will have the chance to learn more about working with the RCMP tonight (Oct 12).

The RCMP is bringing its recruiting efforts to Medicine Hat tonight (Oct 12). Canada's national police force will be holding a career presentation at Medicine Hat College starting at 8 p.m. Cst. Mitch Simmons says anyone interested in learning more about a career with the RCMP is encouraged to come out. “You can kind of get a little taste of what to expect in the application process, throughout training, and even after training,” says Simmons, “You get to hear about it from a member who's been through it and can give you the lowdown on what to expect.” With over 150 different career options, Simmons says wearing an RCMP uniform comes with many benefits and opportunities. He adds in order to apply you must be 18 years of age, have a driver's licence, high school diploma, and Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status. - Jaelene Skaley
