Savour The Southeast Returns November 5th to 11th

A number of Medicine Hat restaurants are taking part and featuring dishes inspired by what's grown and raised in the area

A plate full of locally sourced food won't be hard to come by next week. A number of Medicine Hat restaurants are taking part in Savour The Southeast, which features dishes inspired by what's grown and raised in the area. Jace Anderson with Destination Marketing Organization says they don't tell the restaurant partners what to make. "We just invite them to participate and tell them what the criteria is," says Anderson. "It's a locally sourced plate, menu item, something they celebrate. Then they get the opportunity to do what they do and do it well, because they're going to blow your mind." Savour The Southeast is also celebrating Canada's 150 birthday with the first ever "Poutine Crawl" on Sunday, November 4th. It will be much like a traditional pub crawl, but four participating restaurants will serve up samples of poutine. More information and tickets can be found here.
