Suspected Bank Robber Arrested

Medicine Hat Police say they have arrested a 53 year old man in connection with 2 Medicine Hat bank robberies

UPDATE: The Medicine Hat Police Service has a suspect in custody after two bank robberies last week. Early Saturday morning Stephen Vogelsang, 53, of Winnipeg was arrested without incident. He's been charged with two counts of robbery and will be in court Tuesday. The arrest comes after the Royal Bank of Canada on 13th Avenue was robbed last Thursday, followed by the Bank of Montreal on Dumore Road the next day.


Medicine Hat Police say charges are now pending against a suspected bank robber.  Officers located a 53 year old man in the early morning hours on Saturday (Oct. 21) who they believe is responsible for robbing the 13th Avenue SE RBC branch on Thursday (Oct. 19) and the Dunmore Road BMO branch on Friday (Oct. 21).  Investigators say the suspect is from the Winnipeg, MB area and was taken into custody without incident.  The man is expected to be charged with 2 counts of robbery.  Police say the investigation remains ongoing and more information could be released at a later time.  ~~  Warren Affleck
