Traffic Stop Nets Large Amount Of Meth

An investigation turned up 57.75 grams of methamphetamine, which has a street value around $6,000.

The Medicine Hat Police Service seized a large amount of methamphetamine after a traffic stop early Wednesday. It happened around 2 a.m. in the 700 block of 8th Street S.W. Police say the man driving the vehicle was found to be in breach of previous release conditions and arrested. An investigation turned up 57.75 grams of methamphetamine, which has a street value around $6,000. A further search found:

-6.4 grams of 'crack' cocaine (street value $800)
-22.84 grams of marihuana (street value $220)
-1 gram of cannabis resin (street value $20)
-bear spray and a folding knife (in contravention of his release order not to possess weapons of any kind)

Justin Yuhas was charged and is in custody, waiting for a bail hearing.
