Miss Hawaiin Tropic Medicine Hat Pageant at Ralph's Mike Coughlan hosted the Miss Hawaiin Tropic Medicine Hat Pageant at Ralph's Texas Bar and Steakhouse.  The judges had their work cut out, as you can see... Soldier For A Day Some of the Lounge staff got to be "Soldiers for a Day" at CFB Suffield.  It was a great experience to get up close the base and get an inside look at the life of a soldier. Destino Visits 102.1 The Lounge Canadian "Popera" Group DESTINO visits 102.1 The Lounge when playing in Medicine Hat at the Esplanade in December. Beat the Joneses 102.1 The Lounge held its first major contest "Beat the Joneses" and gave away over $15,000 in prizes to one lucky Lounge listener.  The Grand Prize draw was held at Medicine Hat Mall. United Way "Tools for Schools" Drive 102.1 The Lounge and Southland Volkswagon teamed up for the United Ways "Tools for Schools" and did a drive to gather school supplies for kids and families in need.  We packed a school bus full of "back packs" for this great cause. Gas King "Cheap Gas" Event When gas prices were around $1.50 a litre this summer, 102.1 The Lounge and Gas King dropped the price to $102.1 a litre for the first 102 cars and created a big traffic jam! Mayor Norm "Cupid" Boucher Mayor Boucher challenged 102.1 The Lounge to sell 102 tickets for the 2008 Kinsmen Dream Home.  If we succeeded, he'd dress up like Cupid on Dunmore Road.  We succeeded! 102.1 The Lounge at the Chucks 102.1 The Lounge sponsored Troy Flad's rig at the annual Chuckwagon Races at the Medicine Hat Stampede Grounds in June 6-8, 2008. CJCY-FM "102.1 The Lounge" Transmitter Site Build The following photos show the progress of constructing our transmitter facilities including the transmitter building, installing the transmitter itself and installing our SIRA antenna on the existing CBC tower in SE Medicine Hat. CJCY-FM "102.1 The Lounge" Studio Build Starting in March 2008, we renovated our new studio location at 1865 Dunmore Road SE.  It took about 60 days and a lot of work to turn the old women's fitness location into CJCY-FM "102.1 The Lounge".
