The extreme cold weather is putting a strain on everything including cars and trucks according to the AMA.

The Alberta Motor Association says more than 30,000 calls for assistance have been received across the province.

AMA officials say the majority of those calls are from people need a dead battery boosted.

With the increase in calls comes an increase in wait times for service, so, you are asked to be a bit patient.

The AMA says in Medicine Hat and Redcliff you’ll likely have to wait between 1 and 2 hours for service.
