The City of Medicine Hat is continuing to ask residents to run water taps to avoid water services freezing up.

Officials Friday announced that for those running them continuously for 2 weeks or more, they will get a break on their next utility bill.

Environmental Utilities General Manager Brian Murphy says you just have to fill out a simple online form

Murphy says, “Once you opt in, we’ll use the AMI metering system to confirm that you have, in fact, been running a tap during that period for at least 2 weeks.  Then we’ll process a discount to your utility bill.”

Murphy advises residents to continue slowly running a water tap continuously in your home for at least another week.

More details on the discount, and to find the form, go to the City web page
