It was a historic day for students at one Medicine Hat school.

Ecole St John Paul II was officially opened Monday with fanfare and presentations before the ribbon cutting and tours.

Principal Robert Dumanowski explains the new building is unlike most in the city

Dumanowski says, “Lots of unique technology and programming we’re putting into this building that really makes it standout from their last school, and many schools.  Not to suggest that we’re any better, but we’re doing some things really uniquely and very specially.”

The dual-track English/French Immersion facility serves 325 students from Grade K – 6 and Early Learning.
