Medicine Hat Police say a Medicine Hat man is facing additional charges from an accident last week.

It occurred Friday evening when a truck struck a car on Hill Road SE, injuring a mother and son.

Police say the mother suffered minor injuries, while the 2 year old was taken to hospital, where it was later determined he suffered a serious spinal injury and was transported to Calgary Children’s Hospital for treatment.

On Tuesday, police charged 38 year old Regan Glauser of Medicine Hat with two counts of impaired operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm, and two counts of dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm as well as failure to provide a breath sample.

Glauser has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on Tuesday, February 19
