Medicine Hat Police have released a few more details surrounding the high risk incident in the Flats on Thursday.

Back on May 7, CBSA officers in Vancouver intercepted a silencer bound for a Medicine Hat address.

Medicine Hat Police were contacted and the investigation came to a head yesterday.

Seized from the home here was $4700 USD counterfeit money, along with several prohibited weapons including:

  • A silencer for a firearm
  • A conducted energy weapon
  • A set of nunchucks
  • Throwing stars
  • A switch blade knife
  • Pepper Spray

The investigation by local police and the CBSA is continuing and further charges could be laid.

The accused remains in custody charged with:

  • Possess prohibited weapon/device (x6)
  • Possession of counterfeit currency
  • Assault & resist a Peace Officer

His name is not being released until a bail hearing is completed.
