A city service group is donating $400,000 towards a new trail that will link up Medicine Hat and Desert Blume.

In honor of the donation, The City of Medicine Hat will name a portion of the trail to Rotary Centennial Trail.

Mayor Ted Clugston says everything about the project makes sense.

Clugston says, “It’s been a long time coming this trail.  It really does make sense to connect the two communities.  We all know there has been a fatality out there on that road as well, maybe more than 1.  It’s a good partnership between the City, County and the service club, and $400,000 is a lot of money.”

The City, Rotary Club, Cypress County and Alberta Lotteries Corporation are partnering on the project.
