A man who pleaded guilty to robbing bank branches in Medicine Hat and Saskatchewan will now be sentenced in October.

55 year old Stephen Vogelsang was arrested in October 2017 after RBC and BMO branches were robbed.

Following that arrest, he would be charged in connection with four bank robberies in Saskatchewan.

Vogelsang is a former news director at CKY TV in Winnipeg and a former journalism instructor at Red River College.

Prosecutors are asking for a three year consecutive sentence to the 5 year sentence he received in Saskatchewan. The defence is asking the sentence to be served concurrently.

Vogelsang will learn his fate October 8.
